How to Setup Google Analytics 4 Properties.
Today I am not going to tell you what is Google Analytics 4, how it works, and whatever because you already know all of them.
Today we have to learn how to setup Google Analytics 4.
Don’t waste time let’s get started…
First of all, you already have a Google Analytics account, you do not have to open a new Google Analytics account, you have to setup google analytics 4 in this account itself.
if you don’t have a google analytics account, create a new account on google analytics official website.
How to setup Google Analytics 4
Following all these steps for Setup Google Analytics 4.
First, log into your Exciting Google Analytics account with your email id, that you will see your current Google Analytics version, and you will have to upgrade this Google Analytics to the new GA4.
To upgrade Google Analytics to Google Analytics 4 you need to go to the Admin section.
After that, you have to click on the GA4 setup Assistant in the property section.
Click on the Get started button.
After that, you will get a Prompt, on which you will be asked to create a new property, and in this, it has been told that after creating the property for the new Google Analytics 4, the earlier analytics data that you have will not be affected.
And some useful content has been given at the prompt, which you can read, then click on Create Property.
Congratulation’s you’ve created a new Google Analytics 4 property.
Now the last step is to connect GA4 Property to the website.
To connect GA4 to the website, you have two options, either you connect using Google Tag Manager or manually install GA4 Global tag on your website.
After that click on Tag installation.
Enter the website URL for example (https://technddigital.com), make sure always use protocol HTTPS.
When you create Data Streams in GA4 you have the option to enable/disable enhanced measurement. This will help you in getting reports of different events.
By default, this feature is enabled and will track the following events.
If you want to turn off some measuring events, click on the Settings icon.
Now you have to install the tag on your website, for this, you get two options, one of these options will have to install the tag in your website.
Install Google Analytics 4 with Global Tag
If the global tag of Google Analytics exiting your website is installed, then you will have to replace that tag, instead, you will have to install the GA4 tag.
Copy this global tag and paste in the website coding section between <head>PASTE GLOBAL TAG HERE</head>, and save the coding.
All you have to do to install Global Tag is, after some time data will start being received.
The second option is too long to install GA4 tags with Google Tag Manager.
Install Google Analytics 4 with Google Tag Manager
When you have created the data streams, you will get a measurement id, you have to copy this id, then login to Google Tag Manager.
Login into Google Tag Manager, then click on the Tags section, after that select New
and then tap on the Tag icon.
Select “Google Analytics: GA4 Configuration”.
After selecting GA4 Configuration, you will see a measurement ID column, in which you have to enter the measurement ID of GA4, the measurement id is available in the property section of GA4, where you copy the id and enter it into GTM.
After entering the measurement ID, you have to tap on the Triggering section below, and select All Pages, and then save.
Now you have to check whether the GA4 is properly integrated with the tag manager, for that you have to click on Preview which is available on the page in the tag section.
After that, a new tab will open, in which you will have Tag Manager container GTM-52ZVKK2, and below it is given a colunms to enter a domain, in which you have to enter your domain and click on START.
As you click on start, your website will open in a new tab, then you have to scroll down in your website, which the tag manager will record the events.
If GA4 properly integrated with Google tag manager you will see the event activity in tag manager.
See this activity, it is integrated properly with GTM.
Publish your changes in Google Tag Manager
When your Google Analytics 4 data comes in, then you have to publish your Google tag manager.
The submit button is available near the preview button.
After doing all this you will soon get real-time data in your GA4.

For Google Tag Manager…
- Create a new GA4 property
- Create a data stream
- Copy the Measurement ID
- Create a Google Analytics 4 Configuration tag for Google Tag Manager
- Paste the Measurement ID and set the tag to fire on All Pages
- Preview/test the new tag
- Publish your changes in Google Tag Manager
For Manually install tag…
- Create a new GA4 property
- Create a data stream
- Copy the GA4 Global tag
- Paste global tag in the website coding section
- Save the website coding, and Done
